Frequently Asked Questions

You must be 18 years old with a valid driver’s license to rent and drive our jet skis. Passengers must be 6 years or older to ride.

No prior experience is necessary. We’ll give you a quick safety briefing and instructions on how to operate the jet ski before you head out on the water. We’re here to make sure you feel comfortable and confident.

Our jet skis can hit up to 65 mph, depending on the weather, waves, and weight load on the machine. Of course, you don’t have to go that fast. One of the best parts about jet skis is that you can accelerate depending on your comfort levels.

Yes, life jackets are required by law and provided by us. We will ensure that everyone on board has one that fits properly before you head out.

Jet skis are typically safe to ride in good weather conditions. We may cancel or reschedule your rental if there are strong winds, heavy rain, or thunderstorms for safety reasons. Always check the weather forecast before you arrive.

If the jet ski is damaged during your rental, please notify us immediately so we can assess the situation and help determine the safest course of action.

If you purchased Damage Protection during checkout, covered accidental damage is protected up to the coverage limit outlined in your rental agreement. Damage Protection is not unlimited coverage. If the cost of repairs, replacement, or other covered losses exceeds the coverage limit, you may be responsible for any remaining balance. Damage Protection also does not cover intentional damage, reckless or negligent operation, violations of the rental agreement, theft, loss of equipment, or damage resulting from prohibited activities.

If you declined Damage Protection, you are financially responsible for the full cost of repairs, replacement of damaged or missing equipment, loss of use while the jet ski is out of service, towing or recovery expenses (if applicable), and any other charges outlined in the rental agreement. Your security deposit will be applied toward these costs, but you may be responsible for additional amounts if the damage exceeds the deposit.

Our goal is to be fair and transparent. We understand that accidents can happen, and we’ll work with you throughout the claims process.

Our rental durations vary, from hourly to half-day or full-day rentals. You can choose the rental period that best fits your schedule.

Yes, there is a combined weight limit of 530 lbs. per jet ski. We reserve the right to make judgment calls based on passenger weight.

3 people are allowed per jet ski.

No. Fuel is not included in the rental price.

At the end of your rental, we will refuel the boat and charge you only for the fuel used. The fuel charge, plus any applicable credit card processing fees, will be charged to the card on file. If you did not purchase Damage Protection, the fuel charge may be deducted from your security deposit before the remaining balance is released.

If you would like to avoid the credit card processing fees, simply let us know at the end of your rental and you may pay the fuel charge via Venmo or Zelle instead.

Yes, a $500 security deposit hold is required per vessel unless you purchase our optional Damage Protection during checkout.

Guests who purchase Damage Protection are not required to provide a security deposit. If Damage Protection is declined, a refundable $500 security deposit hold per vessel will be placed on the card on file prior to your rental. The hold is released after the equipment is returned and inspected, provided no damage or other charges are incurred.

It’s important to return the the jet ski on time to avoid additional fees.

Late returns will be charged at a rate of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for every five (5) minutes beyond the scheduled return time. If the vessel is returned more than sixty (60) minutes late, RENTER forfeits the entire security deposit in addition to applicable late fees.

Late fees may be waived solely at the discretion of BLUE HERON BOATS due to severe weather or mechanical failure not caused by RENTER.

Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet. We recommend swimwear, neoprene shorts, water shoes, and sunscreen. You can also bring sunglasses, but make sure they’re secured with a strap.
